Timothy Hawk, AIA Principal

Tim has been with WSA Studio since 1993, is the President of the firm and leads design and business development activities. He is a specialist in the design of religious, academic and workplace environments and has been recognized for his ability to work with large groups to build consensus on design direction. Hawk is currently serving AIA Columbus as Past President and is the immediate past chair of a national knowledge community focused on Interior Architecture. Hawk holds both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Architecture from the Ohio State University with Post-graduate studies in the History of Architecture and Art from the University of Illinois at Chicago. He is NCARB certified and is registered as an architect in Ohio, Michigan, Washington, New York, New Jersey, and New Hampshire. Recent projects include the design of First United Methodist Church in New Philadelphia, Ohio; Ohio Highway Patrol Post 23 in Lancaster, Ohio; the Grange Mutual Insurance Workplace Re-stack in Columbus, Ohio; Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Upper Arlington, Ohio; Africentric K-12 and Wedgewood Middle School in Columbus, Ohio; and plans for a renovation and addition to Tree of Life Christian School in Upper Arlington, Ohio.

John Meegan, AIA Principal

John has been with WSA Studio since 1995 and oversees administrative and design activities for the firm. He is a specialist at the resolution of complex rehabilitation challenges and is adept at working through the process of construction administration. Meegan holds a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the Ohio State University and is a registered Architect in Ohio since 1993. Recent projects include the completion of the Seneca Housing renovation project in Columbus, the conversion of the First Baptist Church into the Bar of Modern Art (BoMa) in downtown Columbus, a medical office addition to Flower Medical in Sylvania, Ohio, and renovations to Brasee Hall at Ohio University in Lancaster, Ohio. Currently, John is working with the Columbus Zoo on the Polar Frontier Concessions Stand.

R. Todd Boyer, AIA, LEED AP Studio Leader

Todd is a Studio Leader with WSA Studio and shares duties of design and project oversight. He holds a Master of Architecture from Arizona State University and a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the Ohio State University. Prior to joining WSA Studio, Todd practiced in San Diego, California and interned in Dayton, Ohio. Under Todd’s leadership, the firm has been able to shift design direction towards increasing sustainability. Todd is widely perceived as a contextual designer, taking site cues, programmatic requirements, owner budgets and special design needs into consideration. Additionally, he offers a national design perspective to the practice. Recent projects designed and managed by Todd include Ernie’s London Apothecary, the Brasee Hall Library Renovation, the Ohio State Highway Patrol Post #23, First United Methodist Church, Indian Run United Methodist Church, and the Seneca Housing renovation project.

Francis X. Weaver

Since joining WSA Studio, Frank has grown to hold expertise in a wide variety of small projects. He is a Studio Leader and is noted for his strong staff mentoring capabilities. Weaver holds long standing relationships with a number of repeat clients and is noted for his ability to solve complex problems quickly and within modest budgets. Additionally, Frank provides a strong service mindset and has been noted for going to great lengths to please client workgroups. Frank holds a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Architecture from the Ohio State University and received numerous awards as a student. In addition, Frank has served as an adjunct faculty member at OSU’s Knowlton School of Architecture and has nearly fifteen years experience in the profession. Recent clients and projects include renovations at Franklin University, the West Central Medical Center, and Brainstorm Media. Frank is also managing and coordinating design documents for a sanctuary addition to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Upper Arlington, Ohio.

Janell holds a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from the University of Cincinnati and has significant experience in the contract furnishings industry. Prior to joining WSA Studio, Janell was a showroom manager in the Merchandise Mart in Chicago. She is also an advocate of sustainable design and focuses her volunteer time on promoting conscientious lifestyle choices. Janell has been a design lead on institutional and workplace projects, including Ohio University’s Brasee Hall Library Renovation and the corporate offices and studios for Brainstorm Media. Janell is currently charged with design leadership and management of the acquistion of furniture systems on the Grange Mutual Re-stack project and the interior design lead on the design and detailing of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.

Since joining WSA Studio, Esra has provided interior design leadership on a wide variety of projects and holds exceptional interpersonal skills. She has a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from Ohio University’s Interior Architecture program. Currently, Esra is charged with updates to our interior design resource material and design leadership on Franklin University, Ohio University and Ohio State Highway Patrol projects and provides design support for the Grange Re-stack project. Additionally, Esra has led the design and coordination of renovations to the flagship facilities of the Ohio Manufacturers’ Association in downtown Columbus, Ohio.

John is a technical support specialist, charged with systems integration and firm-wide computer coordination. He is an instrumental leader of the WSA Studio standardization program, focusing on BIM technology integration. John holds an Associate of Applied Science in Architecture from Columbus State and is currently charged with support and document coordination for the Tree of Life project, miscellaneous projects at Franklin University, Holy Trinity Lutheran Church Addition and McGraw-Hill projects.

Brian Rezentes, Assoc. AIA;

Brian is a recent addition to the WSA Studio team, and holds a Master of Architecture from the Ohio State University and has several years of experience.  He is currently working towards his professional licensure as a National Council candidate in the Intern Development Program.  Brian is keenly aware of the impact that architecture can have on the daily lives of individuals and has an affinity towards the development of design solutions that are well executed and hollistic.  He is currently working on two school projects, the Tree of Life Christian K-12 School renovation and expansion and the Columbus Africentric K-12 replacement project.

Lisa joins WSA Studio after several years of experience on a diverse set of projects in Minneapolis.  She has a Master of Architecture from Washington University in St. Louis and a Bachelor of Science in Math from St. Olaf College.  Lisa is in the process of completing the Intern Development Program through NCARB and is on track for professional registration.  Lisa has a passion towards architecture that is well designed, coordinated and impactful, and seeks to lead the resolution of complex architectural problems and teams.  Currently, Lisa is leading the coordination of design and technical documents on the Tree of Life Christian K-12 School renovation and expansion.

Mr. Schnell is a founding partner of WSA Studio, has been engaged in leadership of the firm since 1970, and is currently serving as the Emeritus Chairman of the organization. Schnell is a Distinguished Alumnus of the Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Architecture in 1962 and he holds a Master of Fine Arts in Architecture from Princeton University. He is NCARB certified and is a Registered Architect in Ohio. Mr. Schnell assists with design activities at the firm and has recently completed offices for Brainstorm Media in Grandview Heights, Ohio; the West Central Medical Center in Delaware, Ohio; the Ohio Township Association offices in Blacklick, Ohio; and renovations to the Gearworks Building in Grandview Heights, Ohio.
