HONDA NATURE & CONSERVATION EDUCATION CENTER

preservation and education

The Honda Nature & Conservation Education Center will be the new central focus at Camp Lazarus for the Simon Kenton Council of Boy Scouts of America. The new space will support the roughly 18,000 Boy Scouts from the Simon Kenton Council sparsely during its operating months. At 1,900 square feet, the new space will be a hub for scouts to learn and explore the landscapes and ecosystems around them. This will serve as a truly versatile space with a dual purpose of preservation and education for the scouts and the community.

WSA Studio served as the interior environment architects of The Honda Nature & Conservation Education Center.

PROJECT OUTCOME

The new center has already started to grow interest from the outside community. The Delaware Area Career Center will lease the Honda Nature & Conservation Education Center from the Simon Kenton Council for the next ten years for its environmental management classes of 50 students. The building will truly be a new staple at Camp Lazarus as it continues to grow.
