Design for Innovation

PRINCE OF PEACE LUTHERAN

SANCTUARY EXPANSION

The Prince of Peace project includes the analysis of the existing facility and site environs and the development of a master plan for growth and the design of the first phase of construction. The existing facility provides an adequate sanctuary and gathering space, but currently does not include enough classroom space and lacks a fellowship hall. The design of the addition provides over twenty classrooms, expands existing administrative areas and is centered on the articulation of a large fellowship space. A particular challenge of the design was to match the scale of the existing structure without overpowering it, and to provide continuity in the aesthetic of the church.
