Design for Innovation

Since 2015, WSA Studio has been working both directly with State Auto Insurance and with a design-build team to incrementally improve the campus and multiple office buildings in downtown Columbus. Currently, the design team is updating the master site plan with a new four-story parking garage, pedestrian plazas, and modern building facades.

The goal of the campus master plan is to enhance the pedestrian experience in the Discovery District. WSA Studio and a team of consultants are working closely with the Downtown Commission and the surrounding community to ensure that the project serves the needs of the neighborhood while respecting its artistic background. Located adjacent to the Columbus Museum of Art, the plaza will feature projection screens that highlight the arts and draw the community in to the space. It will replace a bland surface lot with a modern garage and a green linear park, improving the path for students at the nearby Columbus College of Art and Design.
