Academic Innovation: Global Impact STEM Academy
Get an early look at the innovative learning spaces inside the Global Impact STEM Academy's Upper Academy
Last month, WSA, and partners at Marker Construction broke ground on the Global Impact STEM Academy’s (GISA) Upper Campus. This school is a new space that will share a corner of Clark State Community College’s campus . The Upper Campus will house administrative offices and classrooms, as well as interactive labs for subjects ranging from food science to engineering. The school will support the needs of modern students and the facility will allow GISA to not only expand its innovative and future-focused curriculum, but expand access to a larger number of students. The location will also create an intentional pipeline with Clark State, creating greater access to higher education for students in central Ohio.
“This building was designed to be uniquely GISA. That was kind of our idea throughout, not just a standard kind of K-12,” – Todd Boyer, WSA
GISA serves students in grades 7 – 12 and delivers an innovative curriculum across a variety of STEM disciplines. Facing restrictions due to facility size, GISA created an expansion initiative to construct the new facility on Clark State’s campus. WSA helped GISA develop a master plan for the new facility and engage the community to drive support and raise funds to bring the expansion to life.
