International Center for Creativity (ICC) Renovations

See how we transformed the new International Center for Creativity.

WSA has worked with the International Center for Creativity (ICC) since 2019 to design an academic innovation center in Dublin, Ohio. The ICC is partnered with Cedarville University, providing an off-campus hub for students to carry out research and development projects related to industrial design and consumer product design. With greater access to technology, maker labs, classrooms, and amenities united into one comprehensive “home base,” the University can better support its flourishing Industrial and Innovative Design program. The program is one of the most popular majors at Cedarville and has seen increased enrollment every year since its inception in 2010.

During the design of the space, we infused the ICC with environmental graphic installations that reinforce its mission of fostering an engaging, creative environment. Blank white walls are transformed into inspiring and interactive moments that shape the student experience. The entrance to the maker lab features a wood wall covering and distressed acrylic ICC logo, evoking a sense of the handmade design and craftwork that occurs within the space. Technology is thoughtfully located in the lobby, where screens provide opportunities for marketing and customizable slideshows. Also central to the lobby is a custom shelving unit that showcases student work, displaying various product prototypes. From the colors to the materials palette, the ICC brand is brought to life throughout the space.

“This is a dream come true to move into facilities of this quality and to do so in this area. Columbus has become the home for startups, creatives, and innovators.” – Jim Stevenson, President of ICC
